Session 1:  Effective Curriculum Design – Starting Points and Next Steps

This session will look at a range of strategies and approaches for teachers and leaders to consider, evaluate and implement to begin the process of effective curriculum design. From evaluating existing planning and curriculum to collaborative approaches to effective mapping and sequencing, this session will consider a range of approaches to ensuring that delegates can design a curriculum which benefits all learners.

Gap Task

  • Delegates to take the strategies and approaches covered during Session 1 and evaluate elements of existing planning/ curriculum, sharing feedback in Session 2 on potential actions to take.
Session 2: Backward Design and Short, Medium and Long-Term Planning

In this session, delegates will look at how to effectively implement backward design approaches and best fit models and strategies for content vs coverage.
