The UCL Early Headship Coaching Offer (EHCO) puts you and your school at the heart of the programme through a professional learning group approach that helps you share your thinking and understanding. Set within a solution focused and supportive framework, the UCL ECHO programme, delivered in partnership with Infinite Learning, is considerate of the pressures of early headship whilst being mindful of the benefits that can be found in supportive networks.
At its heart, school leadership is about creating a culture where people can flourish. Whilst that may sound simple, the job itself is inherently complex and as you embark on your first headship, you are also embarking on the next stage of your professional learning journey, a journey that will continue throughout your career.

The programme provides structured unassessed support based on the best available evidence about what makes an effective headteacher.
The programme has been designed to be a flexible as possible, incorporating a mix of wellbeing surveys and online self-study material that can be accessed at times which best suit you. Supported with a series of scheduled 1:1 coaching sessions (led by experienced international coaches) as well as peer coaching sessions with leaders from across the MENA region therefore ensuring discussions are relevant and contextualised.
You are in your first 5 years of Headship.
You have either completed a National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH) before taking up your first Headship post or are currently taking the NPQH.
