Programme details:
Whenever we work with a least one other person we are part of a team. We might be leading that team or we might be a participant. Whatever our role, communication skills and understanding team dynamics are important to the outcome and impact of the collaboration on the library service we provide. This course will help delegates understand the process and to put theory into practice to maximise the chances of success.

Session 1:
Understanding team dynamics
Stages in team development
Reacting to and managing change
Communication skills
Verbal and non-verbal communication
Listening skills
Assertiveness
Dealing with challenging people
An activity will be set on management styles to be completed overnight
Session 2:
Managing and working within different types of team
Feedback from the set activity
Working with students
Working with teachers and support staff
Working with senior leaders and governors
Working with parents
Networking
Teamworking beyond the school community
Forging links and making contacts
