Aims of the course
  • Develop a deeper understanding of the long-term development of young people.   
  • Explore the theoretical principles of mastery-based learning and how this can 
  • impact long-term development 
  • Apply theoretical principles to curriculum design.   
Intended outcomes
  • Knowledge – learners will explore long-term development and how curriculum design can impact engagement and progress. 
  • Mindset – learners will explore alternative approaches to curriculum design and consider the long-term athlete development model and the links to a Mastery based approach.   
  • Action – learners will gain practical ideas for delivering a mastery based curriculum which are relevant to the individual school context.
