About Me
Andy Homden has served in some of the world’s leading international schools, including The Alice Smith School, Kuala Lumpur as Director and Dubai British School as Principal. He was the founding principal of Jumeira Baccalaureate School. Now CEO of Consilium Education, he has developed a range of new courses for teachers, which are based on a deep experience of international education, while strongly influenced by contemporary educational thinking and the digital revolution.
An experienced A Level and IB Diploma teacher, Andy believes that students across a wide ability range are able to take responsibility for their own learning in Years 12 & 13 when they have learned to think and write analytically. Once students have been explicitly taught the academic skills that support analytical writing under exam conditions, they also become genuine independent learners, more able to cope with the transition to university and the world of work.
