  • The role of attitudes, values and beliefs in safeguarding;
  • Relevant and contextual safeguarding legislation and statutory guidance;
  • The definition of child protection and safeguarding; 
  • Signs and symptoms of child abuse and neglect;
  • Wider safeguarding issues including online safety; 
  • Children who may be at greater risk; 
  • A child focused approach;
  • Keeping a child safe in the family home;
  • Responding to safeguarding concerns relating to a child;
  • Safer practice and professional boundaries;
  • Responding to safeguarding concerns relating to an adult;
  • Working with families to safeguard their child.
