Target audience

SENCos and HoI who are new to Dubai, new to DSIB / KHDA Inspection or those who wish to review their policies and processes

Aims of the course
  • To ensure that Heads of Inclusion and SENCos are informed, knowledgeable, confident, and prepared to implement the requirements for Inspection within Dubai. 
  • To enable leaders of inclusion to confidently self-evaluate their school’s journey and document the areas of improvement required to support and progress students with additional needs (including SEND, AEN, EAL, ELL, G&T, Medical and Emirati). 
Intended outcomes
  • Be aware of the ‘History of Inclusion in the UAE’

  • Be familiar with the two KHDA portals and their uses

  • Work to create a strong Inclusion Strategic Action Plan and documentation which demonstrates school and learner progress

  • Understand how to document a robust Self Evaluation process

  • Be familiar with the Compliance Documentation

The role of the SENco or Head of Inclusion is a key position within School Leadership and the role has a vital part to play in whole school development.  It is vital that SENCos and Heads of Inclusion understand the very specific requirements around leading and managing the inclusion team within a Dubai school and ensuring that the school is complaint with local regulations.
