This course has been designed for those who hold key safeguarding responsibilities within the organisation. This course will benefit:​​

  • School Safeguarding Governors
  • Supervisory staff from nursery, primary and further educational organisations
Aims of the course

The course will explore:

  • The National Child Protection Policy;
  • Creating and implementing a school safeguarding and child protection strategy incorporating the National Child Protection Policy;
  • Safeguarding roles and responsibilities;
  • Communication with key stakeholders including parents and governors/trustees;
  • Developing a robust staff training plan to embed the National Child Protection Policy;
  • The importance of embedding a culture of safeguarding empowered pupils;
  • Robust safeguarding risk management;
  • Embedding the National Child Protection Policy in Safeguarding Standard Operating Procedures;
  • Reflecting on current practice and identifying changes to practice in line with the National Child Protection Policy.
