Maddison Lewis has been working as a science educator and leader in both primary and early years phases for the last ten years. As a middle leader in primary school and coordinator of Science, she has had significant impact in growing departments specifically moving from ‘Good’ to ‘Outstanding’ in Phase 1 & 2 in line with the KHDA Framework.
Maddison’s philosophy for learning within Science is that deep learning only occurs when learners take ownership of their learning. This is embedded within the design of the Science curriculum she has developed at her school but also within the support her teachers receive. By incorporating creative teaching and learning strategies within stimulating lessons, the Science curriculum is one which allows children to lead their learning in exciting and innovative ways.
One of Maddison’s key values as a leader is encouraging collaborative and supportive working. This is reflected in the training that she delivers. The courses available have collaborative working at the heart of them with attendees working in groups to discuss, design and deliver lessons as well as reflecting as a team, developing a supportive environment to share feedback.
