
About Me
Having led Primary English across the UK, Spain and Dubai, and with a career in education spanning over 16 years, Laura is an experienced practitioner and subject specialist. Graduating from Newcastle University with a BA in English Literature, Laura went on to complete her PGCE in Primary Education and has subsequently held a number of additional Middle Leadership roles including Lead Practitioner for a large international British curriculum school and Year Leader.
Passionate about inspiring and supporting educators to cultivate reading and writing experiences which are inclusive and ambitious, Laura creates bespoke professional development programmes for teachers and leaders. She has worked with a number of groups and trusts in the UK and partners with a range of organisations whose mission is to seek to ignite a love of English in pupils through the development of teacher’s understanding and knowledge of aspirational and purposeful English opportunities. Laura is a proud member of the English Association’s Primary Committee and the author of weekly blog, ‘Glimmers in Education’, which can be found on Substack.
