Sarah Pavey has worked as a school librarian for many years, both in the independent and maintained sectors. She has published several professional books and is also a co-author of “The Innovative School Librarian”. She has spoken at numerous teaching and library conferences and training events.
This course will enable delegates to initiate policies to give maximum impact to the role of the librarian and the library for which they are responsible. It will cover library development plans and resource collection policies. The course will also look at some innovations for use within the library to add that “little extra” including hands on use.
This will be the fifth year that Sarah has run courses in Dubai. Her courses are very interactive and based around practical exercises. This course includes:
- Considering the wider needs of the school
- Becoming visible during inspection
- Creating a library development plan for impact
- Constructing a resource collection policy
- Ideas for inspiration and the innovative school library
