She has developed ‘The Safeguarding Standard’, which provides the benchmark for outstanding practice in Safeguarding.
Often a keynote speaker, Emily is an experienced trainer working both in the UK, MENA and ASEAN regions, Southern and Eastern Europe. Emily is an expert school improvement partner, and experienced change manager in the preparation for ISI, Ofsted and BSO inspections.

Dr. LIZ GAILER
Dr Liz Gailer has over 35- years’ experience of working as a senior service manager in the front line of children’s social care provision. Upon retiring from a high-profile UK Local Government role, Liz has continued to develop her professional practice through her own academic research and by providing a range of consultancy and Safeguarding services to child and young person intervention practioners. Liz is also a Non- Executive Director for ‘The Safeguarding Alliance’. Through her Southern European charity work, Liz has extensive experience of child protection issues in relation to group migration from war, natural disaster and fragile environments. She has worked, researched and taught in the United Kingdom, United States, Southern and Eastern Europe, MENA and ASEAN regions.

PAUL READ (BA (Hons), CQSW, DipHE, PTLLS, MCMI `{`GDL`}`)
An international consultant & trainer for safeguarding and child protection, risk mitigation and educational premises security–management. A 30-year veteran retired senior UK Police Officer, he has extensive experience of managing Police to diverse Community portfolios, investigating crime against children and vulnerable groups, devising and delivering strategic policing partnership initiatives and conducting investigations globally. Paul also has experience of working in statutory Probation and Prison Aftercare provision dealing with sex offenders, as an investigator into historical child abuse for an international youth charity and as a Safeguarding, security and risk mitigation advisor for international NGOs and International Schools.
