Programme details:
It seems that very few staff have ever cited the appraisal system as a pivotal part of their development, yet each year in schools we go through an often tick-box exercise in the name of performance development. Appraisal has become synonymous with judgement and, at worst, fear. It very rarely acknowledges that performance is based on how we feel. This course shares a very different approach to the development of staff. Starting by exploring the preconditions to building trust within your school culture, this course will enable you to catalyse the tools needed for line managers and staff to be able to access the curious conversations needed to talk about how we exist and behave within our working lives. Having established the rich culture and tools required, Jeanie will lead you through the role-behaviour matrix and trust-based appraisal framework, meaning that you will have the tools to take away to implement a meaningful and developmental appraisal system in your school.
