  • To develop an understanding of how ideas can be generated.
  • To encourage a more imaginative and engaging approach to idea development.
  • To break down one of the main barriers to writing: of having no ideas.

Understand how to generate ideas from the simplest of beginnings and turn them into something magical.

Write Inspired is based in London, UK. It provides both Inset and specially designed in-house CPD where Philip Davis demonstrates the efficacy of his techniques with classes. Philip has now worked with many thousands of children all over the world. He has worked in all sectors, state, private and international. Write Inspired also delivers project-based consultancy working with many classes within a school and alongside Senior management and staff in meetings focusing on the development of a more creative curriculum.

  2. Develop these using the Write Inspired awareness grid
  3. Understand how to use associative thinking
  4. Understand the nature of imagination
  5. How to use the ideas for story and poetry

  • The power of awareness and observation
  • Using the awareness grid to organise ideas
  • Associative and divergent thinking
  • Using the ideas to create sentences


Session 2:  The Nature of Ideas – part 2

  • How to generate depth from simple ideas
  • Making every word count : moving away from stock sentences
  • Building the Write Inspired Idea map
  • Using the map to create story and poetry
  • The power of improvisation
