Programme details:
Early Years Leaders are key players in children’s futures, team dynamics and the success of whole school outcomes. Team leadership has never been so critical, in light of the need for ‘regrouping’ following the recent worldwide school closures and the impact of lockdown on educators, children and families and our ‘return to the future’.
Some of us become team leaders by default, rather than by design, whilst others have authentic membership of a Senior Leadership Team and a strong influence on the whole school or setting team making sure that ‘what matters’ for the youngest children is the reality! It is the earliest years of education that provide our youngest children with the foundation for all future life and learning, encompassing; the child’s home and family, social relationships and the programs, health and well-being, aspects of learning and subjects. Influencing upwards requires Early Years leaders to have access to cutting edge leadership development and to shape and impact the role as they navigate the pressures and challenges of external and internal expectations.
This interactive day explores Early Years Team Leadership in detail, from the leader as a person to the principles behind professional leadership in a Nursery, Kindergarten or school-based role and a practical opportunity to begin or review a Quality Assurance and self-evaluation process. The focus is on supporting Early Years leaders to master the art of team leadership, to be highly confident and proactive in the role and in establishing the recognition of the Early Years of learning as the basis of whole school improvement in a focused, impact evident and strategic way.
‘The way a team plays as a whole determines its success. You may have the greatest bunch of individual stars in the world, but if they don’t play together, the club won’t be worth a dime. Babe Ruth
