Aims of the course

This course equips you to be a transformative pastoral leader. We’ll explore how to cultivate a thriving school culture, navigate the key aspects of your role, and empower your tutor team. You’ll develop practical strategies to bridge the gap between pastoral care and academic achievement, manage student behaviour effectively, and build strong relationships with parents and external support. We’ll delve into creating a robust, whole-school approach to student wellbeing and safeguarding, and equip you with the skills to monitor, evaluate, and continuously improve your pastoral care systems. Finally, you’ll gain the knowledge and confidence to excel in SEF writing and inspections, developing the personal and management skills for demonstrating success in school improvement.
