WHOLE SCHOOL - Coaching for Leaders

Course Overview

This is a challenging time for teachers and school leaders. We have very quickly been thrown into uncertain times and are now trying to lead our staff and students through a liminal space.

Just at a time where our teams need empathy, compassion and a space to listen we find ourselves isolated from each other and working remotely.

This online programme is specifically designed to develop your ability to coach your colleagues and team remotely.

Evidence-based approach

The Making Stuff Better Coaching for Wellbeing Programme is underpinned by the principles found in Positive Psychology, Behaviour Change Theory and the Co-Active(CTI) Coaching model.

Our coach training rests on the core facets of these theories and are based around the pillars of; whole person, creating perspective, action (and re-action), alignment and reflection.

What is a virtual course?

This is a virtual course that is delivered live by the facilitators. Over the course of 8 weeks you will join colleagues online via Zoom and be taken through the training by the facilitators. In between these times you will be set small assignments to undertake as well as reflection and some additional reading.

4 hours of the training will be live. The other 4 hours will be offline.

This is not a self-directed course. You must be available for the live sessions and ready to join in. You cannot complete the course by watching them afterwards.

Upon completion of the course, you will receive an Infinite Learning/Making Stuff Better Certificate of Professional Learning.

Testimonial

As a senior leader to work through this light touch course with Matt and Gill was incredibly useful and not an imposition. It was a great opportunity to reflect on whether I really am ‘listening’ to my staff and helping them find their own solutions and ways forward. Refreshing and reflective – I recommend working with Matt and Gill. – Director, JESS Dubai

We have been very impressed by the quality of the professional development and coaching they have provided, and participant feedback has been overwhelmingly positive; one commenting “This is the best professional development I have been part of in over 10 years”. – Andrew Macdonald-Brown, Director, Dulwich International High School Zhuhai

An empowering experience for all involved! The shift from mentor to coach is very significant and quite challenging when, as a teacher, you are so familiar with giving advice. The coaching techniques facilitated by Matt and Gill develop you as a coach to listen carefully, look for other signals and ask the right questions so the clients find their own answers. Matt and Gill modelled great coaching and provided a learning environment where you felt comfortable to ‘have a go’. The homework tasks were very useful in reinforcing the coaching techniques and allowed us a space to reflect on our coaching and feedback from our clients. Discussing the homework task in the next session also helped us to share and improve on our coaching experiences.  – Head of Year, Rashid School for Boys, Dubai

Note:

  1. Delegates will need to have Zoom downloaded on their devices for the virtual learning sessions
  2. Due to the bespoke virtual nature of this e-learning course, each cohort can accommodate a maximum of twelve delegates.
